Terms of Use & Disclosures

1. What The Claim Letter is

The Claim Letter is a free, advertising-supported newsletter and website that publishes factual information about class-action settlements with open claim periods. We are an independent publication operated by a sole proprietor in Woodridge, Illinois.

2. Not a law firm; no legal advice

The Claim Letter is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and is not a lawyer referral service. No attorney-client relationship is created by subscribing, reading the newsletter, or using this website. If you need legal advice about a specific case, consult a licensed attorney.

We are not a settlement administrator, claims processor, or agent of any court or defendant. We do not file claims on anyone's behalf and cannot file claims on your behalf. All filing happens directly on the official settlement website run by the court-appointed administrator.

3. Accuracy and verification

Every settlement we publish is checked against its official settlement website on the day of publication, including the claim deadline, eligibility, and proof requirements. Deadlines, eligibility terms, and claim procedures are set by courts and administrators and can change at any time. You must confirm all details on the official settlement website before filing. We are not liable for decisions made based on information here that has changed on the official source.

4. No guarantee of payment

Settlement payouts are almost always pro rata and depend on the number of claims filed, court approval, and claim validity. We never guarantee any payment amount, and nothing on this site promises money. References to settlement fund sizes describe the total fund, not what any individual will receive.

5. Free to file - always

Filing a class-action claim is free. Administrators are paid from the settlement fund. Never pay anyone to file a claim. We will never ask you for money, payment details, or government identification, and we will never link to a site that does.

6. Advertising and sponsorship disclosure

The Claim Letter is advertising-supported. If we ever run paid advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate arrangements, they will be clearly labeled as such in the placement where they appear. As of the effective date above, we do not accept payment from law firms for referrals of any kind, we are not a lead-generation service for attorneys, and we do not sell subscriber information to anyone (see our Privacy Policy). Any future sponsored content will never be presented as a verified settlement listing.

7. The newsletter

Subscribing is free and requires double opt-in: you submit your email, then confirm via the email we send. Every issue contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and opt-outs are honored promptly. By subscribing you agree to receive the weekly newsletter and essential service messages about your subscription. You may unsubscribe at any time.

8. Acceptable use

You may share issues freely (we appreciate it). You may not scrape the site or republish our verified listings as your own product, resell access, or use the signup form to submit email addresses that are not yours.

9. No warranties; limitation of liability

The newsletter and website are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Claim Letter's operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any lost claim opportunity, arising from use of the newsletter or website. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to $0 - the price you pay for it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
